Overall, we mostly use virgin polymer POLYPROPYLENE for our products as this is food grade, durable & has the best chemical resistance. However we are also able to use High Density Polyethylene & other materials if required.
Yes! All our products are 100% recyclable & are #5 recycle symbol. None of our products are made to be single use, rather made to last a “lifetime”!
Yes! All the products are manufactured using EU & FDA approved food grade material. Click here to view the food grade certification. The measuring jugs have also been tested in UK by SGS United Kingdom laboratories & are compliant to Europe’s standards in food safety, LFGB.
All our products are made in New Zealand. We have several manufacturing sites located in the North Island of New Zealand.
We have these products tested by the Fitzherbert Science Centres, of Palmerston North, New Zealand. Here is a link to the results.
Yes, no problem with cleaning them in a dishwasher however we recommend the top shelf.
Polypropylene is very chemical resistant. Click the here to access the chemical resistance chart.
More Information is also available.
Yes, using them in a microwave is no problem. Just be careful as very hot contents will make the plastic hot as well. If it is getting to boiling or close to it, then the plastic can feel “soft”. Once cooled it will return to its normal feel.
Yes, but use caution as always with hot liquids & remember very hot contents will make the plastic hot as well. At boiling, the plastic can feel “soft”. Once cooled it will return to its normal feel.
Yes, you can use an autoclave successfully with no damage or affect
on the product. We have used they following as confirmation.
Machine: Barlows 28013W 250-D
Cycle: 15 minutes at 121º + 15 minutes drying.
Note: Always ensure the products are placed on trays not directly on the element or element cover. The product material will be more flexible when first removed from the autoclave and should be allowed to cool back to room temperature before using.
Very good question! Firstly, our products are not intended to be “single use”. I.e., used once & then thrown away. We design & manufacture the products to last a “lifetime”.
There are many of these products still in service after 20 years. Plastic will break down over time; for instance after prolonged exposure to sunlight & hot & cold. Or in some cases of extensive use with harsh chemicals. However, whenever they reach the end of the useful life remember! They are fully recyclable & can be reinvented again.
Yes & no! Polypropylene is very durable & hence that is why it is used in many industrial, agricultural & food processing & production applications. It is made to withstand the knocks of everyday life. However if you take to it with a hammer or drop it from 3 metres high, especially if its full of product then, yes, it will crack or break. UV attacks plastic & over time can make it go brittle. To counter this we add a UV stabiliser to our products to negate the effects of this.
Yes, our jugs are suitable for agricultural operations and pass the requirements set by GLOBALG.A.P for Good Agricultural Practices.
Yes, you certainly can. We use both screen printing & hot foil stamping methods. Marking can include logos, mixing rates, product information or special calibrations.
Yes of course. While scoops are specifically designed to be used with dry products such as food ingredients or pet food kibble, jugs can be used with both liquids & dry products. Using the bulk density of your products we can help work out the volume you need & if needed print calibrated markings on the product.
Our products are all made using the injection moulding process.
Short answer is no. Most countries laws say that measures for dispensing product for sale must be marked as legally certified to hold or dispense that particular volume. Like the markings on a pint glass. So, in most of these applications glass is the preferred material or perhaps polycarbonate which is a rigid plastic very similar to glass. However our jugs have been tested for accuracy & are totally fine for mixing, dispensing & purveying products in a very wide range of applications.
We're proud of our products and processes, that result in high accuracy, quality and a huge number of potential uses. If you need additional information, or would like to ask a question that is not listed here, get in contact!
