After testing by SGS United Kingdom certified test laboratories, the Pro-Jug range achieved LFGB certification. This is the German abbreviation for the Food and Commodities Act - Lebensmittel- und Futtermittelgesetzbuch.

Awareness and expectations of safety related to the materials we use when preparing and consuming our meals have risen. As a result, manufacturers must respond by complying with regulations and satisfying consumer demands. We were asked to meet these requirements by one of our leading UK distributors to the food & hospitality sectors. Of course, we were more than happy to submit our products for this testing. They passed these stringent tests with flying colours.

The base of the analysis of articles and materials that come into contact with foodstuffs are on two framework directives. One identifies basic documentary and testing requirements, and the secondoutlines restrictions on the use of certain dangerous substances.

This comprehensive chemical and migration-level testing addresses:

  • Positive lists of authorized substances
  • Special conditions for use of these substances
  • Basic rules for checking compliance
  • Overall migration limit of constituents into or onto foodstuffs
  • Specific migration limits of certain constituents into or onto foodstuffs

Technically the tests cover:

  1. German Food, Articles of Daily Use and Feed Code of September 1, 2005 (LFGB), Section 31.
  2. German Food, Articles of Daily Use and Feed Code of September 1, 2005 (LFGB), Section 30, European Commission Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 and its amendments, and BfR recommendation.

The symbol is moulded into the base of the Pro-Jug giving peace of mind when they are used in any food contact situations.
